This is one of the many drawing games we play with the children in our after school clubs. The aim is for them to relax about about their drawing and enjoy the process, rather then worrying about the fished product. Sometimes we find that the side drawn with ‘the other hand’ is actually a more interesting drawing than the ‘good one’.
You need:
Paper (a big sheet is best to encourage children to make larger, more confident marks)
Coloured pens
Decide on what you will draw. This could be observational or something from their imagination. Hold a pen in each hand, position each pen on either side of the paper and DRAW! Keeping the pens on the paper and drawing in one fluid line can add an extra challenge. Have a look at both pictures…which one do you prefer?
